INGREDIENTS * 1 1/4 Cup plain flour * 1/3 Cup sugar * 1/2 Cup butter * 2 whole eggs * 2/3 Cup sugar * 3/4 Cup honey * 2 T. plain flour * 1/2 tea spoons salt * 2 T. melted butter * 1 1/2 tea spoon vanilla * 1 Cup finely chopped walnuts
PREPARATION Start by preparing the crust using plain flour and sugar. Place the ingredients inside the bowl and cut in butter until coarse. Press them into a 9 x 13 baking pan. Bake the crust in 375 degrees for a quarter (15 mins). After crust bakes reduce oven to 350 degrees. Combine the following and beat well: the eggs, 2/3 of cup sugar, honey, 2 T. plain flour, 1/2 tea spoon salt, 2 T. melted butter, and 1 1/2 tea sppon vanilla. After mixing well, add in one cup finely chopped walnuts. Pour filling over baked crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until firm. Cool and cut into squares. Additionally you may pour hot sugar syrup in the cool cake or cold syrup in the hot cake. That's the secret ;) Mel (Columbus, Ohio)
